Dissertations Library

Welcome to the dissertations library that accompanies Planning Your Dissertation 3rd Edition. Here you’ll find a range of dissertation outline structures from various subjects, grouped into ‘report-style’ structures and ‘essay-style’ structures (see pp. 117–24 in the book). The aim is to show the flexibility in how these two basic structures are adapted to suit the needs of different subjects and each individual research project.

These outlines are examples, not rigid models to follow. Although we can’t promise that you’ll find an outline in your exact subject or topic, we hope you’ll find enough variety to help you work out for yourself the structure that best suits your inquiry.
