About the authors

Dr David Campbell has taught strategy since 1992 and is senior lecturer at Newcastle University Business School. He is the author of over 30 books, articles and monographs, and is on the editorial boards of several international journals in accounting and ethics. His research interests are in accountability, corporate governance, voluntary reporting and ethics.

David Edgar Dr Edgar is Professor of Strategy and Business Transformation and member of the Department of Management at Caledonian Business School. His current management responsibilities include acting Head of Department, and acting Head of Research for the Business School. His main areas of research and teaching are in the field of strategic management, specifically dynamic capabilities, business uncertainty and complexity, and innovation. He has worked with a range of organisations on Business Transformation projects in particular relating to e-Business strategies, innovation, and knowledge or talent management. David’s interest in innovation relates to innovation as an element of dynamic capabilities.

He has a wide range of academic experience from programme development to international collaboration and have an excellent network of colleagues in both academia and industry. 

Professor Edgar has successfully supervised 11 PhDs and currently has 9 more PhD students. He is currently on the editorial board of four journals and regularly reviews for a further seven. In addition, he regularly contributes to conference organising committees and acts as a reviewer for a range of conferences. 

David’s consultancy experience is in the area of soft systems methodology, organisational analysis, managing innovation, business processes analysis and design, scenario planning and strategic planning/reviews. He has worked with a wide range of private and public sector organisations including NTL, Telewest, NHS, Local Councils, Aristo hotels, and IBM. The consultancy expertise is supported by and complemented by Professor Edgar’s research interests. In recent years these have started to be contextualised around the strategic development of organisations in complex and transitional environments and has involved working with colleagues in a range of countries and industry sectors.

George Stonehouse Professor George Stonehouse is Dean of Napier University Business School and Professor of International Strategic Management. He is the founder of the Edinburgh Institute of Leadership and Management Practice and is a non-executive director of Destination Edinburgh Marketing Alliance. He has wide international experience in both business and academia. He is an Honorary Professor of the State University of Management, Moscow, Russia, Honorary Chair in Leadership at ISB, Kolkata, India and Visiting Professor at the University of International Business and Economics Beijing and the University of Zhengzhou, Peoples Republic of China. His main research and consultancy interests lie in the areas of leadership, strategic management, creativity, knowledge, collaboration, and global business. He has published 3 books and numerous articles in leading academic journals. He has been engaged in research, consultancy and design and delivery of training with a number of leading UK and international organisations.
