Chapter 2 starts by looking at the nature of Greek religion – particularly its polytheistic nature, and this leads on to an examination of the Olympian gods and goddesses such as Zeus and Hera. It then moves onto describe temples, priests and types of sacrifice, before moving onto three topics giving a deeper insight into Greek religion: the Panathenaic Games, the Eleusinian Mysteries and the oracle at Delphi.
