About the Authors
Dr. Jörg Sydow is a Professor of Management at the School of Business & Economics of Freie Universität Berlin and a Visiting Professor at Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow. He has published widely and is a founding co-editor of two leading German journals, Managementforschung and Industrielle Beziehungen – The German Journal of Industrial Relations, as well as a member of the editorial boards of Organization Studies, Organization Science, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management Studies and The Scandinavian Journal of Management. He was an International Visiting Scholar of the Advanced Institute of Management (AIM) Research in London and a Visiting Professor at, among others, the University of Arizona, Tucson, the University of New South Wales, and Columbia University, New York. His current research interests are organization and information technology, strategic partnering, outsourcing, inter-firm networks in service and science-based industries, regional clusters, entrepreneurship, innovation and project management, organization and management theory, as well as research on high-reliability organizations and disasters.
Dr. Elke Schüßler is an Assistant Professor of Organization Theory at the School of Business & Economics of Freie Universität Berlin. Her research interests revolve around the governance of inter-organizational relations, particularly in global production networks and in regional clusters. Current research projects focus on the governance of labor and environmental standards and the organization of creative processes. Additionally, she is leading a research network on field-configuring events. Her research is published in leading journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Industrial and Corporate Change, Industrial and Labor Relations Review or Industry and Innovation.
Dr. Gordon Müller-Seitz is Professor of Strategic Management at the TU Kaiserslautern. His research focuses on inter-organizational relations, risks and uncertainties, innovation and technology management, business model innovation and Industry 4.0 / Internet of things. His work has been applied at European corporations and consulting firms and has appeared in scholarly journals (e.g. Research Policy, Business Research, Journal of Management Inquiry, Organization) and practitioner outlets (e.g. Long Range Planning).
