Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to bloomsburymathsengine.com and bloomsburymathengine.com known together as "Maths Engine". We want as many people as possible to be able to use Maths Engine. For example:

  • You can zoom in up to 150% using the browser zoom feature without text or user interface elements being cut off the screen.
  • Text-based content can be read via a screen-reader.
  • Mathematical equations have been written in MathJax which means these can also be read via a screenreader. A demonstration of using MathJax with a screenreader can be found in this video.
  • Many parts of Maths Engine can be navigated using just a keyboard.

We are committed to making Maths Engine accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

Maths Engine is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Some colour combinations don't have a sufficient colour contrast. This fails WCAG2.1 Success Criterion 1.4.3. We are working with developers to fix all such instances of these issues where possible.

Tab focus indicators are not always visible, and in some instances focus gets stuck. This fails WCAG2.1 Success Criterion 2.4.7 and 2.1.2 respectively. We are working with developers to fix all such instances of these issues where possible.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 24/02/2022. It was last reviewed on 24/02/2022.

Maths Engine was last tested on 24/02/2022. The test was carried out internally by Maths Engine staff. We used random manual sampling to test the site.

This accessibility statement is based on the sample version provided by the UK Government.
