'Science content' sheets
The ‘science content’ sheets are matched to the chapters in the book. They feature the areas of the curriculum to be assessed; these assessment objectives are listed in the ‘What does the curriculum say?’ section of each chapter.
The ‘Evidence’ box in the second column of each 'science content' sheet is a space in which dates of attainment can be entered and cross referenced to the actual evidence – a page in a science book, photograph or school test result, for example.
'Working scientifically' sheets
The skills and processes in working scientifically must be taught in the context of an investigation related to the science content of the curriculum.
The ‘working scientifically’ sheets identify the requirements of working scientifically for each Key Stage; investigations in which a particular requirement has been reached can be recorded in the evidence column. The sheets can be used over the two years of Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2.
